Great First Bed : South Shore Furniture Jumper Collection 39-Inch Twin-Size Mates Bed, Classic Cherry

We bought this bed for my 3 year old and had hopes for a solid first bed. It went together pretty easily, but it admittedly stinks! We purchased it 5 months ago, and it still stinks! all we put in the drawers smells like chemicals. I am also very unhappy that the edges of the drawers and each of the boards are highly sharp. While the picture makes it look like there is rounding on the edges, the actual edges are super sharp- my daughter has gauged her heels on the lower corners of the drawers, scratches her legs whenever she slides out of bed, and I worry any time she runs nearby in the room. It is Not child friendly! I am replacing it already because I worry about fumes effecting my preschooler's growing brain and because it is not safe for a rambunctious kid. This material is fine for a desk, Not for a bed!
